My good friends Neil and Kevin from Wales came to have a fish with me this week for two days. We did bit of fishing on the lower river one day and on the middle river the next day. The water level is now getting very low for salmon fishing the middle parts of the Eden and the air temperature with the wind chill factor was not all that pleasant!
Kevin and Neil are both fine fly casters.
Putting out some lovely lines.
The salmon seem to be a little thin on the ground on the Solway rivers Eden, Esk, Annan and the Nith just at present, so we decided to have a look at the trout.
We had to work hard but managed a few, Kevin with a good trout..
even with the cold north wind (a well wrapped up Neil)…
anything is possible.
We had a fabulous couple of days on the water with great company, a few laughs and a bit of sport, great to see you both again!
