I had my good friend Richard that I had not seen for a while come up and join me for a couple of days on the river. Yesterday the northerly icy wind suppressed any surface activity throughout all of the day and the fishing was a little difficult. Today the breeze had less of a bite to it, the sun shone for most of the day and this encouraged large dark, a few upright’s and brook dun to make an appearance.
Fishing small nymphs there were plenty of takers..
and one or two nice trout were interested.
As the day wore on the surface feeding increased.
A switch of pools, scenery and a switch to the dry fly…
A good day on the water with a good friend and fisher with nicer weather at last!
