Warwick joined me lunchtime today on the lower Eden.
After heavy rain from last night and persistent rain all morning, the river level began to rise and colour up, not a great time to start, but Hobsons choice. As the water level hit one foot, fishing a small PTN on a long leader it was looking less likely of having any sport at all, but then….
Hang on to it Warwick!
…..A very fit trout took off for the Solway….
A happy man!
…Followed by a nice grayling and a couple of good takes missed, but with the tide coming in and the flood water heavy with colour rising to two and a half foot, without a snorkel and stilts, it was all over.
