A bit of a stiff and cool westerly breeze today with the odd shower. Even so, the hatches of March brown, large dark and olive upright were good, the grannom are yet to show!
Out on the river with my friend Neil Lobban today, good company and some nice casting going on.
The water was in great shape and was fished either side of the tide today but unfortunately it did not materialise. Water level is at 1’3″, clear and dropping, with the good weather set for the next few days and getting warmer, the trout fishing should kick in nicely. It is all yet to happen, the river is slowly waking up after a long period of very high water, all the ingredients are there.
