Apart from Friday, the weather looks set fine for the weekend, this should make the show at Lowther a very enjoyable event. I and others always look forward to our “local” event and showcase for what we have in Cumbria and south-west Scotland where we can meet up with friends, have a chat and more importantly have some fun.

The usual suspects will be there on the Fishing Island, please do pay us a visit and spend some time with like-minded people. Pay a visit to the Borderlines stall with Chris Bowman and see what they are up to regarding getting our youth into fishing and the great outdoors.
The Fishing Village will be a lot larger this year with many clubs, associations, trust, retailers, instructors, angling interest and fisheries attending from a wide area, please do get involved, it is what you make it!
There will be demonstrations on the hour every hour.
Also senior and junior casting clinics, competitions and fly tying.
The main theme for Lowther this weekend is about getting young people, women and families back into angling whether is be game, coarse or sea fishing.
Once again this year, the Fishing Island has been generously sponsored, supported and made possible by John Norris of Penrith
A few of the youngsters receiving their prizes 2014.
There will be several prizes over the weekend set aside for the most promising youngster’s that have a go at various events. It is great to see that John Norris are investing in the future of angling and making a big difference. We will hopefully see you there!
