River Eden, June 13th 2015.

I don’t think the weather forecasters can tell you what yesterdays weather was doing let alone the next day! As it happened we ignored the horrendous “wet” day they had forecast and had to suffer a nice overcast mild day with interludes of sunshine, very pleasant it was too.

Out on the middle Eden with good friends Vicente and Nieves to day, although the conditions are better suited for early and late fishing we did manage a few trout.

4Nieves.

There were a few salmon and sea trout showing also in many parts of the pool which was very tempting. If the low water conditions continue the sea trout numbers will build quite substantially in certain pools.

1Airborne trout.

The trout certainly responded better today to fishing the faster water and a small prince nymph on the point with a partridge and red spider on the dropper rather than a PTN on the point which seems to work most of the time. All in all a good day on the river and very enjoyable, but with these low water and warm conditions fish the dusk period for the bigger trout.
