River Eden 25th April 2015

Light rain and very cool winds from the north-west this morning did not seem the ideal conditions for a good day on the river. It just shows how wrong we can get things sometimes! All day long there were consistent hatches of small, medium and large darks, brook duns, grannom and some what looked like pale wateries. The fish were on too, not in a big way and the better fish were locked on to the nymphs rather than on top like the descending smolts were.

I had a fabulous day on the water with David, it was an absolute pleasure to see him casting and fishing so well.

Got hold of a couple of nice fish and lost a couple, the weather faired up later in the day for a real pleasant afternoon and grand finale, all is well with the world!
