Out on the river with good friends Neil Truelove and Graham Waterton today. Having a bit of a cast about and fish just before we all head for the AAPGAI assessment and Open day this weekend at Cockermouth on the river Derwent.
River is looking in pristine condition today after a good dry spell.
The large dark hatch with a cool stiff breeze today just did not happen unfortunately so the fishing was a little slow.
Neil Truelove in action.
But we had some serious fun analysing fly casting and just enjoying the good company and surroundings.
Water level now at just below one foot and with big tides the next couple of days, hopefully on the medium tides due shortly the fish will come in numbers.
