It was more like there was spring in the air today on the river compared to the awful cold, windy and wet weather we have been having of late. Not much in the way of hatches yet although the air temperature was considerably warmer than it has been, just the odd what looked like brook dun from a distance coming off.
Out with Steve today on the middle river, swinging wets and drifting nymphs in such surroundings and with the river dropping and clearing was just sublime.
A couple of grayling took an interest, but locating the fish today was difficult, maybe a few more settled days with a rise in temperature and things will improve dramatically.
A very enjoyable day out, everyone feeling very chilled and happy!
