Please find below the details of a great weeks fishing with Glyn Freeman on the Grand Cascapedia, the Petite Cascapedia and the Bonaventure rivers on the Gaspe Peninsular in Quebec from the 5th August 2012. All the team here at Halstead and Bolton are very excited at having finally secured fishing at this world-renowned location.

Glyn will be leading a team to the Gaspe Peninsular in Quebec to fish for Atlantic salmon on the crystal clear salmon rivers of this famed region. We have earmarked the week 5th August 2012 as it offers the best chance to catch large multi wintered salmon on dry flies, as at this time of year the water clarity is up to 200 feet and the chance of a thirty pound plus fish is a real possibility.

Built in the late 1800’s, Salmon Lodge has been welcoming Atlantic salmon fishers to the world-famous Grand Cascapedia valley for over a century. During your stay at Salmon Lodge you will have the thrill of fishing three magnificent rivers with great guides and enjoy some fantastic food. The Grand Cascapedia, that consistently produces the largest Atlantic salmon in the province. The Petite Cascapedia, while during a float trip you’ll have the opportunity to fish miles of some of the most beautiful and productive salmon and brook trout water anywhere. The Bonaventure regarded as the clearest of the clear, offers anglers a unique opportunity to sight cast to huge salmon on miles of pristine river.

Fishing is either wading or from traditional 26-foot river canoes. Early season is a combination of both while later in the season the pools are better fished by wading – or relax during a float trip down miles of pristine river where you will experience not only great fishing along the way but the breathtaking scenery the area is famous for.

This will be Glyn’s first visit to the region, so he will be there to fish his own rod. Rather than in his usual role as non - fishing host, as on the Rio Gallegos, because of this the price of the trip will not include our usual hosting fee.

The cost of the trip to the Salmon Lodge is £4350 Inc 14.9% Government Tax.
