River Eden, May 15th, 2016.

The cool north easterly and then a north westerly breeze did not stop the continuous trickle and sometimes flotilla’s of large darks and grannom coming off the water all day long. But with the air temperature considerably lower than the water, surface action was slow and the fish were hard to tempt at times.

Good friends Vicente and Nieves came to visit today, it is always nice to spend time with them.

1

Both fished very hard all through the day trying various nymphs and spiders.

2

It was only when the air warmed temporarily at odd times during the day that there was some action.

3

A good fish for Vicente.

4

Nieves got hold of two very good trout early afternoon on light spiders fished high in the water, one breaking the leader and the just other let go.

5

Fortunately the third stuck and was duly landed.

6

A very relieved Nieves!
